Dr. Anita Sanchez

As an adult, books have guided me to open up my mind, heart and soul, and contributed to directing me in business and spiritual life. As a child, books provided a familial connection, a deeper understanding of who I am, what I am, my mind-body-spirit, and how I am an important member of the amazing Hoop of Life.

Growing up economically poor in the inner city of Kansas City, it was my mother, an avid reader with a seventh-grade education, who showed me the power of books. I got my first library card at age four and every other Saturday we would walk to the library and get a new stack of books. Oh, I loved sitting next to my mom, each of us absorbed in books at the end of each day. Along with my indigenous and spiritual upbringing, books provide me a way to continually grow, expand my life – my sense of self, my knowledge of others, people, nature, the cosmos, virtual travel, and books uplift my dreams daily. I have such gratitude and love for all the diverse authors I discover, and their subjects. And, naturally, I have a deep commitment to free libraries that ensure all people have access to their treasures.

DR. ANITA SANCHEZ is a powerful visionary business consultant of Mexican American and Aztec heritage who has woven her knowledge of indigenous wisdom, business, and science into her global consulting and training work with world and corporate leaders for more than four decades.

A member of the Transformational Leadership Council, the Pachamama Alliance and Bioneers, she is the best selling author of The Four Sacred

Gifts: Indigenous Wisdom for Modern times, in which she reveals the prophecy entrusted to her by a global collective of indigenous elders – 4 Guiding Gifts that can help us remember the power of unity, guide us to transformation and wholeness, and enable us to live in deeper harmony with all of humanity. The Four Sacred Gifts recounts the story of The Eagle Hoop Prophecy, based on Mohican Don Coyhis’s dream of a sacred hoop surrounded by eagle feathers. The Elders believe this vision is a sign that the time has come for all peoples to come together as one.
